The prosecutor's office has not initiated pre-trial proceedings and files related to the activities of 25 organized crime groups since 2018, Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov said at the presentation of the annual report of the Interior Ministry.

"Through the 'independent' prosecutor's office, the authorities have ensured the peace of mind for these groups to operate in our country. So when female prosecutors lecture us from the corridors of the Palace of Justice and often mention the rule of law together with their boss Ivan Geshev, let them look at themselves first," the minister said.

He also noted that the Interior Ministry will publish information about nearly 100 preliminary investigation files that are gathering dust in the prosecutor's office without any evidence that they are being worked on.
