Market Links: Two-thirds of Bulgarians believe that their country must stay neutral regarding the war in Ukraine

Most Bulgarians believe that their country must stay neutral regarding the war in Ukraine, data of a survey conducted by Market Links and commissioned by bTV show. According to 67% of the respondents, Bulgaria must stay neutral. 16% of the polled think that Bulgaria must actively provide assistance to Ukraine, including military assistance.

A defense council of the ruling four-party coalition in Bulgaria is to discuss the proposal of “Democratic Bulgaria” regarding the provision of military assistance to Ukraine.

Following a personal request of French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia will open a humanitarian corridor from Mariupol to Zaporozhye. Ukraine’s government is sending dozens of buses to Mariupol, in a fresh attempt to bring out evacuees and deliver humanitarian aid. 

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the situation in the south and east of Ukraine remains extremely difficult and that there will be battles ahead. Russia and Ukraine resume their peace talks online on April 1.
