Price of natural gas in Bulgaria rises

Photo: library

On April 1 the price of natural gas hit a new record. The decision of the energy regulator envisages that gas will cost a little over 71 euros per megawatt hour without taxes for access, transmission, excise and VAT. Today's price rise equals 25.3% compared to the previous month but it is significantly lower than the price of nearly 90 euros per megawatt-hour proposed in Bulgargaz's initial application.

The energy regulator states that it has made every effort to reduce the price for the month of April, using all possible quantities from the gas storage facility in Chiren. At the end of the heating season, the price rise will have a minimal impact on the bills of household consumers.
