Official BNB statistics show stable and high growth in housing loans. According to the latest data for February, compared to the same period last year, the rise is 46%. The central bank also reported a decrease in the average interest rate for the month by 0.19 percent. Consumer lending also increased in February, although not as much as housing loans. Compared to the previous year, loans to households rose by 25% as the average interest rate in February was nearly 8 percent. The number of new deposits, compared to the same period last year, shrunk by half.
