The Sofia City Council has decided to hoist the flag of Ukraine over Sofia municipality’s administrative building alongside the flag of Bulgaria. The Ukrainian flag will stay there for as long as the war lasts as a token of support for the Ukrainian people.

The decision was approved by 36 town councilors, 14 voted against. Sofia City Council chairman Georgi Georgiev, who submitted the proposal, stated that Sofia must set down tendencies, and that leaders lead, they do not follow or make excuses. Georgi Georgiev said further that such is the example in all European capitals.
