On Palm Sunday let’s show together how our capital can be even more colourful, clean and pervaded by the spirit of sports! Two major sporting events are taking place today. In the center of the city begins the traditional cycling "Sofia rides a bike" and the running competition "For cleaner air". The organizers from Sofia - European Capital of Sport, Sofia Municipality and the Centre for Urban Mobility expect dozens of cyclists and runners to take part in the event. The start is exactly at 11 o'clock on the National Assembly Square, and the route reaches the South Park.
Bulgarian sports celebrities will take part in the event, including Olympic medalists in gymnastics Yordan Yovchev and short track speed skater Evgenia Radanova.
Exactly at 9 o'clock in the morning, the 11th edition of the largest spring mountain running event in Bulgaria near Lake Pancharevo will start.
