The ban on entry into EU ports by Russian-flagged ships is now in effect in Bulgaria’s ports, the Executive Agency Maritime Administration has announced.
This measure is part of the new package of European sanctions against Russia over its war in Ukraine. An exception will be made if help is needed, or in the event of emergencies, including when human life is endangered. The restrictions will not apply to ships transporting gas, oil and petroleum products, metals and pharmaceuticals to the EU.
