Ukraine receives security assistance from the USA

Shipments from the Biden administration’s latest security assistance “have begun arriving”, a White House official told CNN. “President Biden this week approved an additional package of USD 800 million worth of weapons, ammunition and security assistance to Ukraine”, CNN informs.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense has given an ultimatum to Ukrainian forces still fighting in Mariupol to lay down their arms in order for their lives to be spared.

“The elimination of the last Ukrainian troops trapped in the besieged port of Mariupol would put an end to talks with Moscow”, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, quoted by AFP. “That will lead to an impasse as we will neither negotiate territories, nor our people”, President Zelensky further said. 

Bulgaria has secured the necessary oil supplies from Russia, the country’s Minister of Transport Nikolay Sabev said for the BNT.
