The sailors from the "Tzarevna" ship have returned to Bulgaria. They were transported back to Bulgaria onboard a government plane which landed in Varna. After disembarking at the port of Mariupol, the sailors were taken by pro-Russian separatists to Donetsk and from there to Sochi, from where they boarded a government plane.

Relatives of the crew were allowed on the runway at the airport to meet them. Bulgaria's Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, accompanied by Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska, also arrived at the airport.

Five people have remained onboard the ship in the Ukrainian port of Mariupol at their own will, including Captain Pavel Pavlov. Two of the sailors who remained on board are Ukrainian citizens, and the other three are Bulgarians.
