Closure of specialized judicial bodies could violate citizens' rights

The Civil Council to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) called for a review of the amendments to the Judiciary Act, which close the Specialized Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Specialized Criminal Court.

The reason is that no provision is made for the storage of information gathered by special intelligence means after the closure of the Specialized Criminal Court on 28 July.

This will put the rights of citizens at risk, believes the head of the Appellate Specialized Prosecutor's Office Ivaylo Angelov. He warned that the responsibility for the imperfect law will be on the legislator.
