Bulgarian PM Kiril Petkov and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz discuss war in Ukraine

In a telephone conversation Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz discussed the war in Ukraine, the press service of the Council of Ministers has reported.

PM Petkov has informed the German Chancellor about the assistance that Bulgaria can provide to Ukraine in relation to the repair of military equipment. Meanwhile, Slovakia and Poland have reached an agreement on the possible transfer of Slovak MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, as Warsaw has agreed to guard Slovak airspace with its F-16 jets.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops have temporarily stopped their land attacks in eastern Ukraine. British intelligence claims that the Russian offensive in Donbas has been hampered by fierce Ukrainian resistance and according to US military experts, Russian offensive in eastern Ukraine is now going much slower than initially planned.
