The ruling coalition has not worked out a unified position on providing military assistance to Ukraine, said Lena Borislavova, Head of the Prime Minister’s Political Cabinet. However, she expressed confidence that this would not lead to disintegration of the ruling majority.
“I am delighted that Bulgaria has a government that acts, instead of just talking about NATO membership and Euro-Atlantic values”, said Lena Borislavova and added that Bulgaria must support Ukraine. “It is unacceptable to suggest that we are hindering peace by providing military assistance to Ukraine”, Lena Borislavova added.
"The Bulgarian Socialist Party will not change its position regarding the military aid for Ukraine", Deputy Premier Kornelia Ninova said today in the town of Kardzhali. "The issue related to the export of weapons to Ukraine makes the ruling coalition much more fragile", Minister of Labor and Social Policy Georgi Gyokov said in the town of Stara Zagora. In his words, Bulgaria has been exporting weapons to 50 countries, but Ukraine and Russia are not among them, the BNR's correspondent in Stara Zagora Deyan Denev reported.
