Bulgarian scientists take part in international project for introduction of artificial intelligence in healthcare

Scientists from the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) will start working on a project for "Auto-adaptive motor brain-machine interface" related to the application of artificial intelligence in the sphere of healthcare, BAS has reported.

The project is funded by the European Commission and aims at enabling people with severe spinal cord injuries perform activities that would otherwise be impossible without additional aids. In collaboration with scientists from France, Switzerland and the Netherlands, Bulgarian researchers will create a mechanism that read signals from the brain and transmit them to devices that support the patient's movements.
