Germany, as Europe's leading industry, will need a lot of hydrogen in the future and Bulgaria could produce "green" hydrogen, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev said during his visit to the German city of Hamburg. According to Bulgaria’s head of state, diversification of gas and oil supplies is the immediate problem for Bulgaria and Germany, but green solutions, including hydrogen, must be sought in the long term.

During his meeting at the Hamburg Chamber of CommercePresident Radev outlined the advantages of investing in Bulgaria, including low taxes and highly qualified workforce.

President Radev met with representatives of the Bulgarian community in "St. St. Cyril and Methodius” church. Bulgaria’s head of State confered the Presidential Badge of Honor to Proffessor Dr. Gerd-Winand Imeyer for his great merits in intensifying the political and economic dialogue and relations between Bulgaria and Germany.

Professor Imeyer is Bulgarian Honorary Consul in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony and Bremen. For almost 30 years he has been actively supporting the establishment and the activity of a number of organizations of Bulgarian citizens in Germany.
