Weather forecast for Bulgaria for Sunday, May 22

Lower temperatures and showers expected on Sunday

A cold atmospheric front will sweep across the country on Sunday. Clouds will temporarily increase. Occasional showers are expected in some areas of Northwestern Bulgaria in the morning and in the south and southeastern parts of the country at noon and the afternoon hours. Thunderstorms are also in the forecast. Moderate westerly and northwesterly winds are also expected. There will be strong winds in the Danubean Plain, the Upper Thracian Plain and along Struma River. Maximum temperatures will fluctuate between 24°C and 29°C, for Sofia around 24°C.

Clouds will temporarily increase in the mountains. Rain and thunderstorms are expected in some areas, mainly in the Rhodopes. There will be strong northwesterly wind. Maximum temperatures at an altitude of 1,200 meters will reach 19°C, at 2,000 meters- around 11°C.

Clouds will temporarily increase along the Black Sea coast as well. Rain is expected in some portions of the seacoast in the afternoon. There will be moderate northwesterly wind in the morning. Moderate easterly and southeasterly winds are expected in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will range between 21°C and 27°C. The seawater temperature is from 13°C at Cape Shabla to 18°C near Burgas.
