Bulgaria's Economic and Social Council, an advisory body to the parliament, unanimously supports the adoption of the euro as of 1 January 2024.

Experts recommend organizing a major information campaign. In addition, the government should prepare a long-term strategy well in advance so as to support the process of catching up with the Eurozone average income level, the council's chairwoman Zornitsa Roussinova told BNR.

By the end of June, the Economic and Social Council will be ready with the analytical report commissioned by the Parliament on how the introduction of the euro will affect our incomes.
