Ukraine’s ambassador to Bulgaria Vitaly Moskalenko has asked Bulgaria for weapons for Ukraine, by official note. The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has not responded yet.
“We need weapons, howitzers and missile systems – old, Soviet armaments which we know how to use,” Ambassador Moskalenko said in an interview for bTV. “I sent the note on Friday. It is not possible to get an answer at such short notice but I shall send similar appeals to other institutions as well, such as the Ministry of Defence,” the Ukrainian Ambassador explained.
Ambassador Moskalenko confirmed that 80 tanks from Ukraine would indeed be repaired in Bulgaria.
“It is incomprehensible that we learn such important news from foreign embassies, in this particular case-from the Ukrainian embassy”, Bulgaria’s Vice President Iliana Yotova said.
