A small twin-engine Beechcraft plane with two people on board flew low over Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria on the evening of June 8. The plane was intercepted by the Hungarian Air Force, the US and Romanian F-16s, the Romanian Ministry of Defense said.

The plane took off from Debrecen at around 5:30 pm without a permit, without a flight plan and with identification system off. Around 19:09 the aircraft entered the airspace of Bulgaria and later landed in bad weather conditions, BGNES reports. An investigation into the incident is under way. The aircraft was escorted and monitored by NATO military jets during the whole flight.
