The Bulgarian National Radio continues to enjoy the highest level of public trust among media in the country. According to BNR Director General, Milen Mitev, the national radio must fight every day to win this trust and it is important to know how. With these words he opened the two-day seminar dedicated to the organization of news content and current information in the public media and introduced the special guest speaker at the event - Tom McGuire. A prominent journalist, producer and award-winning documentary filmmaker, Tom McGuire has long been the head of Irish Public Radio's RTÉ Radio 1 news program.

RTÉ Radio 1 and the Bulgarian National Radio have nearly the same number of employees and similar responsibilities, the guest told reporters. The most important and common thing between us, however, is that we are employees of society and that's the way it should be, the journalist added.

The joint initiative for the event belongs to the Bulgarian National Radio and the EBU Academy.
