After a four-hour sitting, the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee adopted the project of Democratic Bulgaria on the Republic of North Macedonia case and rejected the proposals of the MRF and the GERB-UDF.

The draft states that the parliament mandates the government to approve the proposal of the French EU presidency to lift the veto for the start of EU membership negotiations over North Macedonia. There is, however, one condition - that the document be made more specific to protect Bulgaria's national interest. Tomorrow the draft is to be tabled for discussion in plenary.
