Kiril Petkov remains candidate for prime minister of "We Continue the Change" party

Bulgarian Prime Minister in resignation Kiril Petkov has told BNR that he will be the candidate for prime minister of his party "We Continue the Change", when it received a new mandate to form a government. He said he would not negotiate with the opposition parties that toppled his first cabinet.

The politician expressed concern that a future caretaker government could restore links between Gazprom and Bulgaria without strategy against energy dependence on the Russian state-owned monopolist.

Speaking about the parliament's decision to lift the veto over North Macedonia's negotiations with the EU, Petkov pointed out that Skopje now has a choice for its future and Bulgaria was no longer responsible for its choice.
