Producer prices jump 38 percent in May

In May, the producer price index rose 38% compared to the same month in the previous year, according to data by the National Statistical Institute. During this period, prices for the production and distribution of gas, electricity and heat rose by 84%.

 Prices in food production increased by 26%; in manufacturing - by 29%, and in mining - by 11%. The producer price index on the domestic market in May decreased by 0.1% compared to the previous month and increased by as much as 48% compared to the same month of 2021. The values on the international market are 1.3% and 24%, respectively.
