Bulgaria calls on Brussels to label nuclear power as low-carbon energy source

Bulgaria joined 20 trade unions in the energy sector in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Hungary, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia in support of nuclear energy, the country’s Ministry of Energy said.

The participants called on the European Commission to include nuclear energy in the policies of the Green Deal and the REPowerEU Plan. In their view, the inclusion of nuclear energy in the EU taxonomy is vital to tackling climate change and increasing energy independence.
