The main channel for spreading disinformation in Bulgaria is Facebook, Minister of Electronic Government Bozhidar Bojanov told the BNR. The first 24 hours are the most important, when the relevant post is gaining momentum on the web and the damage has already been done.

Disinformation can be curbed by implementing algorithms that do not recommend the content of controversial posts. The problem can be systematically solved when the European Commission adopts the Digital Services Act in the EU and introduces at the European level these algorithms that are specific for each country, said Bozhanov.

According to data from Facebook/Meta, the most active in the Bulgarian section of the social network is the Vazrazhdane political party, followed by GERB party.
