At a hearing in the Subcommittee on Security and Defense in the European Parliament, the chairman of the EU Military Committee, Gen. Robert Brieger did not rule out the involvement of other European countries in the war in Ukraine. Asked by the Bulgarian MEP Elena Yoncheva what is the possibility of the Baltic countries, Poland, Bulgaria and Romania being involved in the conflict, he said that the more united the EU is for the defense of Ukraine, the greater the chances that the war will have an acceptable outcome for Kyiv and the EU.

The Russian military-political leadership is discussing the possibility of launching a nuclear strike on Ukraine, said Alexey Arestovich, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. "I see some Russian documents... There they are discussing a nuclear strike and everyone is clear that this is madness and they should not allow it under any circumstances," said Arestovich, quoted by UNIAN.

The US president's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, said that US support for Ukraine would continue for as long as necessary. At a briefing at the White House, he emphasized that "the United States is working with Ukraine on a strategy to help it both during the battles to regain its territory and in the negotiations with Russia."

President Zelensky announced that he recalled the Canadian ambassador to Ukraine as a sign of protest because of Ottawa's decision to return to Germany gas turbines needed to maintain the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
