Energy and Water Regulatory Commission: Price of natural gas increases with 32%

Photo: archive

Following a decision of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, the price natural gas has increased with 32% for July to the tune of EUR 94.98 per megawatt-hour excluding taxes and fees. This is the price, at which Bulgargaz will sell gas to the final suppliers and to persons who have been issued a licence for generation and transmission of heat.

"The situation regarding gas suppllies across Europe is extremely complicated, but the good news is that we will have gas in July" said Stanislav Todorov, Chairman of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission. In his words, the gas storage facility in Chiren must be filled to 80% of its capacity before the beginning of the heating season. "Prices will continue to rise, as long as the war in Ukraine continues," Stanislav Todorov predicted.
