After the capital Sofia, Bulgaria's coastal cities of Varna and Burgas are now also in the red zone for the incidence of coronavirus. In just one day, the number of sick people in the country increased from 154 to 162 per 100,000.

On a weekly basis, morbidity has increased by 31%.
At the moment, Covid-19 is progressing with pronounced clinical symptoms of the upper respiratory tract, and some patients also develop pneumonia, Prof. Tatyana Chervenkova told bTV.

According to experts, the risk of illness lasting more than four weeks after infection with Omicron is lower, but protection depends on the persons' age and when the vaccine was administered.
