Bulgaria reports 24% coronavirus positivity rate, 6 deaths

1,862 is the number of new Covid-19 cases out of 7,820 tests performed in the country in the past 24 hours, a positivity rate of 24%, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data shows. 65% of the new infections are among the unvaccinated. The highest number of new infections is in Sofia 492, in Varna – 207, and in Burgas – 191. 

790 patients are being treated in hospital, 42 of them in intensive care. 73% of the 145 new hospital admissions are among the unvaccinated. 6 patients have died, 83% of them were not vaccinated. 509 are reported as recovered. The number of active coronavirus cases has gone up to 14,209.

3,660 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 have been administered in the past day. 2,063,357 people in the country have completed their vaccination cycle, 22,353 of them have taken a second booster shot.
