In the period July 25 to 29th, Plovdiv hosts the International Folklore Festival, which is being held again after a two-year pause caused by the Covid pandemic. Folklore ensembles from Argentina, Brazil, Romania, Georgia and Turkey take part in this year's 26th edition of the festival. The Bulgarian hosts are the folklore ensemble "Trakia" - Plovdiv and the folk dance ensemble "Dilyanka". The festival will be opened with a ceremony in the Ancient Theater this evening at 8 p.m., BNR Plovdiv reports.

Every evening at 5:30 p.m., the line-up parade will take place. Ensembles will pass along Main Street and reach the stage at "Stefan Stambolov" Square in front of Plovdiv Municipality, where short concerts starting at 6:00 p.m will take place. The program will continue with the official evening performances of the participants on the stage of the Ancient Theater at 8 p.m.

All concerts are free!
