An IT company will train and employ people with autism in Bulgaria

For the first time in Bulgaria, a program for training and hiring people with autism has been launched. The program has proven its effectiveness in English-speaking countries. This was told to BNR Sofia by Ana Andreeva-Sapundzhieva, clinical psychologist from the Association of Parents of Children with Autism, and Martin Blagoev, representative of DXC Technology - the company that will launch the program in Bulgaria.
People with autism have little chance of a career in the country, explains Andreeva. Once they finish school, they remain in isolation, at home. She adds that often the retraining and qualification programmes in state job centres are not suitable for them. To apply for the new programme, autistic people must have English comprehension skills. They will go through an interview that is specifically tailored for them.
