10.7 kgs. of cocaine, concealed in a dog food truck were seized by customs officers at the Danube Bridge 2 border checkpoint.
A refrigerator truck, travelling from France to Turkey, was stopped for inspection before midnight on 24 July. The driver stated he was transporting dog food, but customs officers found a total of 10 packages concealed in the cabin. The packages were found to contain a white powder which a field test showed to be cocaine.
Charges have been brought against the truck driver of trafficking in cocaine, and the prosecutor’s office has ordered his detention for 72 hours. The court in Vidin is to rule on whether he shall be remanded in custody for the duration of the subsequent investigation.
