Bulgargaz wants 54% increase in natural gas prices in August

Photo: Archive

Bulgaria's dominant state gas company Bulgargaz has asked the energy regulator for a 54% higher price for natural gas in August, or 287 leva per megawatt-hour before taxes.

The company filed its application at the end of last week, but it was posted with a delay on the website of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, which remained without a chairman after a Constitutional Court decision.

In the current political context in Bulgaria, it is not known who will approve the new gas tariffs.
