“Two cheerful eyes - rays of the sun, illuminate the whole earth and bring love... Two gentle hands... hug me... make my dream come true. And I am carried away; a distant ship takes me on an adventure - a trip around the world..." This is an excerpt from the lyrics of “Okolosvetsko pateshestvie” ("Around the World Trip" - one of the songs in the "Contemporary Jazz with Bulgarian Lyrics" project. Part of it is also "Footsteps in the Sand", which we presented some time ago.
The project is implemented with the support of the National Culture Fund of Bulgaria. "Contemporary Jazz with Bulgarian Lyrics" was created together by Veleka Tsankova - singer, author of the lyrics and co-author of the music, and Mihail Yosifov - famous trumpeter, composer and arranger.
Drummer Atanas Popov, Shibil Benev - guitar and piano, and Dimitar Karamfilov – bass, are also part of the project.
