“The executive bureau of GERB party discussed the gas crisis in Bulgaria,” GERB MP Delyan Dobrev said in an interview with bTV. “The solution is to begin an immediate tender for the delivery of non-Russian gas under a long-term agreement that will be cheaper by at least 30%. Capacity must be booked immediately at the terminals in Greece and Turkey,” Delyan Dobrev stated.

“Natural gas is no longer an energy resource and hasn’t been for a long time, it is a political tool,” outgoing Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov stated, on his part, in an interview with public service TV BNT. “At this point Europe cannot survive without Gazprom.

The contract for seven tankers (of LNG) from USA is in two parts. The first three tankers are for this year, the remaining 4 – for 2023. The latter can be refused or renegotiated. The first tanker arrives in October, and the location has been provided for its unloading, Minister Nikolov said.
