More than 4200 tons of Bulgarian ammunition were exported to Ukraine in the first 4 months of the war with the signature of former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Kornelia Ninova. This was announced at a press conference by Alexander Mihaylov, who was fired by Ninova as director of the arms trading company Kintex.

The shells and missiles were sent to the Polish airport of Rzeszów, which is located 70 km from the border with Ukraine. Every two days 70 tonnes of ammunition were transported by 60 flights.

Against this backdrop, Ms Ninova's claim that she did not know where the Bulgarian weapons were going was "insulting to Bulgarian citizens", Mr Mihaylov said, adding that he was quoting data from the Bulgarian foreign ministry obtained by him under the Access to Public Information Act.
