Protest in Varna against the extradition of a Russian who burned his passport

Bulgarians, Russians and Ukrainians protested in front of the Courthouse in Bulgaria's city Varna, where the court is considering Russia's request for the extradition of Russian citizen Alexei Alchin, who has been in Bulgaria for five years because he burned his passport in front of the Consulate General of Russia.

According to the protesters, if the court approves his extradition, he will face political repression and is at risk. The playwright of the National Theater - the writer Zahari Karbashliev was also among the protesters, BNR Varna reported.
