Bulgarian MEP Radan Kanev has asked the European Commission whether it was monitoring the finalization of the project for the Greek-Bulgarian gas interconnector and whether the governments of Bulgaria and Greece have provided explanations for the reasons behind the delay. Kanev also asked whether the European Prosecutor's Office was investigating a possible deliberate obstruction of the finalization of the project, BTA reported.
The MEP points out that the interconnector is a project of common interest for the EU, which has become even more important after Russia invaded Ukraine.
