President Radev: The gas connection with Greece will help the real diversification of Central and Eastern Europe

The intersystem gas connection with Greece is not just an infrastructure project, but is of great importance for the achievement of real diversification for Bulgaria and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, President Rumen Radev pointed out at a meeting with the owner of the company Avax, which is building the interconnector, and the management of the ICGB project company.

For his part, the executive director of Avax, Antoniоs Mitzalis, assured that the Bulgarian-Greek gas connection would be fully completed by the end of August. However, accompanying activities to legitimize the project are forthcoming. Bulgaria is ready to cooperate for the quick commissioning of the gas connection, the head of state said.
Teodora Georgieva, executive director of the contracting authority ICGB, stated that there was currently a discussion with Bulgargaz about when the Komotini point would be activated for the reception of Azeri gas.
