There is a breach in the system of the Ministry of Interior and the Border Police. It must be located and thwarted as soon as possible, caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev told bTV.

By the end of the week the measures taken by the state are expected to yield results, he said. A reorganization of troops and resources is being carried out in the area of the border with Turkey. More officers have been deployed, additional drone equipment has been brought in and assistance has been requested from the European Border and Coast Guard Agency Frontex. Funds have been allocated to repair the fence along the border.
