More than 200 foreign observers to monitor October 2 early elections in Bulgaria

The preparations for the October 2 early parliamentary elections, the conduct of the election campaign and its media coverage, will be the focus of the election observation mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), said Nina Suomalainen, head of ODIHR's mission.

The mission consists of a core team of 11 international experts based in Sofia and 12 long-term observers, who will be deployed throughout the whole country from September 7. ODIHR has also requested 200 short-term observers to arrive in Bulgaria several days before election day.
