The confrontation between the parties should be sidelined and politicians should give concrete and pragmatic solutions in several directions: to secure energy supplies that would help Bulgarian businesses survive, get a grip on prices to maintain the standard of living, etc, Bulgaria’s Vice President Iliana Iotova said during her visit to Perperikon on the occasion of the election campaign which started recently in the country.

She also called on the competent authorities to put every effort to prevent the loss of human life, and drain the villages in Karlovo region after the heavy rainfall. "We have been repeating one and the same thing for over 30 years- that Bulgaria does not have a stable and prepared infrastructure for flood prevention",  Vice President Iotova said.

Iliana Iotova called on Bulgaria's caretaker Minister of Culture to check how the money from the Ministry of Culture’s amended budget is spent and whether certain projects were funded at the expense of other important activities.
