The coronavirus pandemic will peak again in October, said epidemiologist Radka Argirova.

"This peak will not be that high or dangerous, but it will last longer," Professor Argirova said. In her words, no new Covid-19 variants have been detected.

The flu season begins in October. That is why, the authorities should conduct a general vaccination campaign- both for the Omicron variants and the flu vaccine, the epidemiologist recommended. According to Professor Argirova, the first Omicron vaccines are expected to arrive in Bulgaria at the end of September. People who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 are eligible to get one of these new shots.
