King Charles III has made two official visits to Bulgaria as heir to the throne of Great Britain.

His first visit was in November 1998 as part of his tour of four Balkan countries. At the Boyana Residence, President Petar Stoyanov presented Prince Charles with a copy of a Neolithic ritual mask. First Lady Antonina Stoyanova presented him with seeds of Bulgarian herbs - basil, thyme, lily of the valley and St. John's wort. The herbs are for a special alley of Bulgaria in the Prince's gardens in Highgrove.

Prince Charles donated 10 ambulances to the Tzaritsa Joanna Hospital on behalf of the Humanitarian Aid organisation. In Plovdiv, the Prince visited the Roma Foundation in the Stolipinovo district.

On his second visit in March 2003, Prince Charles went to the port city of Varna, where he visited the Gavroche Children's Centre and Karin Dom, a non-profit organisation sponsored by an English foundation. At the Euxinograd residence he met with students from Varna.
