Trade union protests for higher wages

One of the largest trade unions in the country - the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bulgaria, held a protest under the slogan "Let's protect incomes from inflation and jobs from the crisis". 

Activists blocked the traffic on the capital's Dondukov Boulevard in front of the Government building. They submitted a memorandum with their demands to the Council of Ministers, where they met with caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev. The trade union demands an increase in earnings and steps to curb inflation. 

"We will also have other initiatives by sectors and regions as well as demonstrations by companies most affected by low incomes," said Plamen Dimitrov, president of the Trade Union Confederation. He stressed that wages and jobs could be could be put at risk due to the requirements of the Green Deal and the gas shortage.
