Voting software is now officially certified

The last step for the authentication of the voting machines has been carried out in the Ministry of e-Government. This is trusted build of the software of the machines and generation of hash code.

The process took place in a protected environment in front of foreign observers and representatives of political parties. Only machines that have this hash code, certified by the Ministry of e-Government, the Institute of Standardization and the Institute of Metrology, will be used in the election.

It will take about 10 days to install the software on all the machines before they are sent across the country and abroad, Rositsa Mateva, spokesperson for the Central Election Commission, said. The generated hash code must be the same on all machines that will be used in the election on October 2, Miteva added.
