The partial mobilization declared in Russia means recognition of the failure of the so-called special military operation launched in Ukraine, Prof. Todor Tagarev, former Minister of Defense, has told the BNR.

Analyzes that predict processes of disintegration in Russia are used by the Russian leadership and presented as a threat from the West. But such a threat has not actually been made, the expert claims. "The question is what Putin considers to be Russia's territorial integrity. He includes Crimea here and we can be sure of the results of the fake referendums planned for next week," Prof. Tagarev said and added that the Russian president was in a deadlock.

Military expert Iliya Nalbantov, who has led the offices of several military ministers, has told the BNR that at the latest meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Vladimir Putin saw that Russia was placed in isolation and that this isolation would deepen because of the war in Ukraine.
