Bulgarian Army to participate in Independence Day celebrations

Parade units of the Bulgarian Army will participate in the celebrations of the 114th anniversary of the declaration of Independence of Bulgaria. By tradition Veliko Tarnovo will be the centre of the national celebrations on 22 September. 

At 9.00 a.m. in the courtyard of The Holy Forty Martyrs Church the battle flag of the Vasil Levski National Military University and the flags of the state institutions will be blessed with holy water.

Veliko Tarnovo also hosts the XV International Festival of Military Brass Bands. The musicians will take part in the festive parade, which starts at 11.30 from the Tsarevets fortress. At 12.30 p.m., the concert of the orchestras will begin in the square in front of the post office.

Meanwhile, in Varna, the Naval Brass Band will play at Anton Novak Square at the entrance to the Marine Garden at 4 pm.
