Over the increased migratory pressure, the regional governor of Haskovo Minko Angelov is introducing a partial state of emergency in the municipalities of Svilengrad and Topolovgrad until 29 September. According to the Ministry of Interior, 103,998 people have attempted to enter Bulgaria from Turkey illegally in the period from the beginning of 2022 until 18 September, a 3.4-fold increase compared to the same period of last year.
