European Council President Charles Michel has called for Russia to be stripped of its membership in the UN Security Council because of the war in Ukraine. “… When a permanent member of the Security Council unleashes an unprovoked and unjustifiable war, condemned by the General Assembly, his suspension from the Security Council should be automatic,” Charles Michel said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu also called for Russia to be deprived of the right of veto at the UN.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree on the creation of military administrations in the occupied towns and villages in Luhansk and Kherson regions, so that they remain under Ukrainian administration despite the illegitimate so-called referendums Russia is holding there.
