The interest of Bulgarians in studying abroad is returning

This year, interest in acquiring higher education abroad has grown by 21% compared to 2021, according to data from the World Education project, BNT reported. "Interest in studying abroad is definitely returning after the pandemic, as there are no travel restrictions and no obstacles to on-site study," commented the experts from the project. The Netherlands continues to be #1 in the interest of prospective students (63%).

After Brexit, Germany (49%) and Austria (45%) are permanently in the second and third places in the interest of prospective students, while Great Britain remains in fourth place (42%).

Candidate students are most interested in Business, Economics, Finance majors; Computer technology; Media and Communications; Psychology.

Over 1/3 of those who expressed interest in studying abroad (35%) are considering acquiring a foreign diploma in Bulgaria.
